As I mentioned in a previous post, I gave gift cards as Christmas gifts this year. I do appreciate their convenience but they have made gift giving into an impulse purchase, in the checkout line, at the supermarket. Don't get me wrong I have no problem receiving them as gifts but giving them does seem rather lazy.
To assuage my guilty feelings I tried to wrap my gifts in interesting packages. Here is my favorite package. It is made from a old book and some other miscellaneous items. I do hold a certain reverence toward books and older books in particular so I admit that I forced myself to read the book before tearing it apart. Don't worry it is not a classic.
I put some of my favorite quotes in the book with a pocket in the back for the gift card. Then I dressed it up to look like a doll.
